I went to a job on Monday to chemically cleanse a customers central heating. Upon getting there I asked how she knew her system was clogged & needed cleansing. She told me that she had called her insurance company (one of the national companies) the previous week as she had a problem with her hot water. The engineer had visited & without doing anything diagnosed that she needed her system power flushed. This was not covered by the insurance & would cost £400 plus. Hence she called me. After hearing this I began to investigate & discovered that her problem was with her boiler & wouldn't be rectified with the cleanse. Her problem was a valve in the combi boiler itself ! She then contacted her insurance & after an email from me they have agreed to cover the installation of the new parts. Just ,makes you wonder what you are really covered for & how accurate/interested the engineer are. I suggest those that have plumbing cover check your policies !! |
