Currently al the DIY sheds are selling government subsidised loft insulation Now is the perfect time to get your loft insulated keeping the heat within the home. According to the weather forecasts cold weather is on ots way. Time to get prepared ! |

Over the festive season a lot of people have been over indulging it by having too many demands on their electricity supply at the same time. After reducing the load, on the old reqireable fuse boards this means a lot of fiddling around to replace the fuse wire However, on the new 17th Edition distribution boards it is much simpler & safer If you still have an old rewireable fuse board I would recemmend you consider replacing it as soon as possible |

I was recently speaking with an accredited DEA regarding the new Energy Performance Certificates that everyone needs before marketing their homes. They check many things but I was intrigued as to what was the major determining factors to improve the rating. He explained that the two main factors were heating/ heating controls& loft /tank insulation
For those considering moving it wouldnt pay to do much with the heating, however, in these green times everyone is looking at the eco factor so it may be more advisable for them to consider improving their loft / tank insulation |

SMH Plumbing & Heating have been recognised as a reputable local business & have now been added to the Approved Contractors List with the Procurement Agency for Essex. We can now tender for works for local authorities, and for essential services like Hospitals, Fire/Police/Ambulance stations |

I went to a job on Monday to chemically cleanse a customers central heating. Upon getting there I asked how she knew her system was clogged & needed cleansing. She told me that she had called her insurance company (one of the national companies) the previous week as she had a problem with her hot water. The engineer had visited & without doing anything diagnosed that she needed her system power flushed. This was not covered by the insurance & would cost £400 plus. |

As I have been travelling about over the past few days I have noticed a lot more property is being offered for sale. However, many of the householders are reducing the saleability of the property by not improving their "doorstep appeal".
Weedy driveways, oil stains, broken letter boxes/door bells, loose guttering, unkempt lawns/hedges, faulty security lights, all detract from the property & may stop people from arranging a viewing.
SMH Property Serviceshave worked for many local residents & helped them sell their houses quicker & for more money. |

Spent the morning putting up some shelves for new clients who I had been recommended to. After doing all the jobs I was about to leave when they said how grateful they were to have been given my number & what a "handy man" I was to know.

had a nice email this morning from a customer who had struggled to sell their house over several months. For a modest investment we did some decorating and finshed off several jobs. They have now sold for the asking price and will be moving soon. Great news !! |

Traditionally many people have used British Gas for boiler repairs and installations. However, we have recently quoted for several replacement boilers and have been on average £900 cheaper then British Gas & have been able to service the customers requirements in a shorter time frame. |
